my question

i am currently a student in high school looking to go into forensic pathology and i would like to know the basics. what is the most difficult and what is the easiest.

Get into the best college you can get into. Study a pre-medical curriculum and get grades of B or better. Then apply to medical school. Your specialty will fall into place from there.

I am in highschool as well and I really feel that forensic pathology is the job I want to go into. I have a GPA of 3.5 and rising, I am getting invovled in HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), BETA (a club for students with a GPA of 3.5 and above), the debate team, and spanish club. I come from a long line of people in the medical field and I have always known that I would go into it as well. I created a section called Becoming a forensic pathologist and added a few external links that go through the details. It is sorta disappointing that none of the larger pathology organizations (e.g. Canadian Association of Pathologists, College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)) have a nice description of the path one has to follow to pathology -- forensic or otherwise. hello i am a student also in high school and i have a GPA of 4 out of 5 . i am not a citizen of the U.S. but am planning to reside after i have finished school here in jamaica.i really would like to know ifmp into going to school after ive finished one ? and does it really take that much years of schooling? thanx for your help as i await your speedy response.

I know that mortuary techs are now generally called "medicolegal death investigators," but neither term has an article on Wikipedia. "Becoming a Pathologist"?

Is this section really necessary/appropriate? I could be mistaken, but I don't think any other profession page has a "Becoming a [Profession]" heading. -- MacAddct1984 ^{(talk • contribs)} 01:42, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

• Whilst it may not be neccesary, I don't see why its not appropriate. As far as I can see, if one wanted to know how to become a pathologist, one might well put the word pathology into a search engine and be directed here. If that is what people might want to know about pathology, why shouldn't we answer the question here? Pathologists have beocme the heros of many TV series lately, so it is logical that this particular job should be amongst the first to have this question answered. I suggest that a brief summary is very apt.

Which states have coroner systems?

Adding in Information

I am adding a bit more information under the Education section with information about Japan since there are other countries listed under there. I am also adding a bit more information under the History section that will discuss about physicians from early ages who participated in forensic pathology. I am also creating a new section called Salary which gives an idea of the annual salary a forensic pathologist both in the United States and California.
