Nitai or Nidai

I have heard of a Nisei Japanese Canadian calling herself "Nitai" or "Nidai" (Kanji: 二代), which also literally means "2nd generation". She does this because "Nisei" also means "the Second", in "Nicholas II", which in Japanese is "Nikolasu Nisei".

Is this just an idiosyncrasy? --Menchi 06:33, Jul 31, 2003 (UTC)

"Nisei" also means "the second". "Nikolay nisei" is Nicholas the second, the last Russian Emperor.
