Early text (originally under talk page for title "Marakesh Agreement"

1. How can an international organization be the successor of a treaty? That makes about as much sense as saying that the United Nations is the successor of the Covenant of the League of Nations.

2. How can the WTO be the successor to GATT when GATT is still in force and relevant? GATT is in fact the foundation of the trading system which the WTO administers.
