The outreach department of the Firefly WikiProject is a centralized work are for project recruitment and member interaction efforts. The major programs currently underway are a monthly project newsletter and a welcoming message for new members of the project; further ideas are always welcome, of course!

Project news We were able to raise both Serenity (film) and Firefly (TV series) to GA status. Kudos to everyone who pitched in to help do that! For Firefly (TV series) we requested a peer review and we got a lot of feedback. If anyone has the time, can they work through the items on that list? It would be great to be able to nominate it for FA soon! We now have a Browncoat Award! Our Episode and Character structures were reviewed by the folks over at MOS:Writing about fiction and adjustments made accordingly. We've got a lot of work in front of us to make our articles conform... Our Firefly article made the Onion! How cool is that?	Current proposals and discussions A new Firefly article is up for deletion, please let us know your thoughts! A resources section was added to our project that lists resources plus cut and paste examples for citing sources. Also, please feel free to help beef up our Project page if you know of other resources, etc.,
For the curious The Chinese characters that are part of our Project template means "Firefly"
