User:YOLO Swag

Administritive note: The account which this refers to had been renamed since this nomination was closed; the name was subsequently taken by a known troll. Given that, I decided, as a courtesy, to update the user's name here to the current name of the account, Template:Ul. The original name can still be found in the history; Do not re-instate it on this page. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 20:16, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

YOLO Swag (talkcontribs) I want to be a mediator because of my experience of dealing with people who have difficulties communicating with others as well as experience in resolving real life disputes. I believe I am capable of being a good candidate for this position.--05:57, 19 April 2006 (UTC)YOLO Swag

Mediation committee:

  • Strong oppose. Nothing to do with removing Guanaco (a possible newbie mistake) but per [1]; I will never support any candidate with this many trolling/personal attack blocks. Ral315 (talk) 07:09, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

I have explanations for each of the blocks. I admit I wasn't perfect at the very start. We all make mistakes, but I frequently received hostile treatments from a couple of admins; therefore causes many blocks which are not necessarily justified. More info available upon request.--YOLO Swag 06:50, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Strong oppose. This user vandalizes Wikipedia and regularly makes personal attacks against other Wikipedia users ("Jiang = Shame" among others). I blocked this user for exactly the same reasons. —Guanaco 21:29, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

I do not endorse the image "Jiang=shame" on my talkpage. There is definitely a double standard here. On Jiang's talkpage and userpage, there is an image titled "Taiwan=shame" among others, which can also be interpret as a personal attack albeit against a group.--YOLO Swag 06:43, 20 April 2006 (UTC) Outside opinions:

That incident was strictly a case of misunderstanding.--YOLO Swag 07:07, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Oppose Yes, but your terse reply to Guanaco's charge of personal attack being on the border of brusqueness suggests that your default "reflex" style may not be conducive to being a good mediator. If you made a mistake and apparently you did, one would have expected an apology and an attempt towards conciliation. How would you react if one of the parties in a dispute attacked you in your role as a mediator?

It is possible that you would make a good mediator based on your stated motivations but some evidence of a level-headed, conciliatory style of dealing with conflict is needed to support your candidacy. Richard 07:52, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Rejected per the two oppose rule.
