No idea on the first lady, but the second image is Rowan Atkinson, better known to this American as Mr. Bean. The last image seems to show the German city of Ansbach, Bavaria - but I wonder if the white strip across the northern part of the country is the relevant clue. Perhaps that first image will tie it all together. Hoof Hearted 19:30, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Yup, you're pretty close now. -- Ravn 10:22, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Did any of the Blackadder shows have anything to do with Bavaria, or any other of Rowan Atkinson's shows / films? - Ghelae 12:04, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

I have no idea. ;) -- Ravn 16:25, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Format of the answer

I've been mulling this one over for a while and haven't made any head way at all. Would you be able to tell us if the picture is showing some kind of rebus? Something like "I've been (bean) between a lady and a white stripe in Germany". Or is there a connection between each of the subjects shown? To give you an example of the silly things I've been checking: the caption of Mr. Atkinson's picture says it was taken in Hürth, and I noticed the city of Fürth is not too far from Ansbach. If only there was an entry for Gürth! 64.56.122.126 16:11, 10 February 2006 (UTC) (oops, written by Hoof Hearted 16:33, 10 February 2006 (UTC))

Sometimes life is much simpler that that. Yes, it's some kind of rebus. -- Ravn 16:45, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Unfortunately Hürth does not help us explain the line across Germany, which there may be a good reason for. Ghelae 18:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

As for the others, from the hint, I assume this is a person with the middle name "Rowan". There are a few - William Rowan Hamilton, Edward Rowan Finnegan, for example, but I don't know where Germany or Ansbach comes in, and the first picture is a mystery - a president or prime minister of somewhere in Europe? -- ALoan (Talk) 12:19, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
No, it is not a person with the middle name "Rowan". -- Ravn 12:44, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
OK - a person with the middle name "Atkinson" - er, John Atkinson Grimshaw, Herbert Atkinson Barker ? -- ALoan (Talk) 12:58, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Sorry ALoan, but this is not about getting the information from me. I will reply to actual guesses and give hints from time to time, but I will not answer every question you ask me. -- Ravn 13:40, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Nice try, though, eh? :) Is it either of those two people? -- ALoan (Talk) 14:33, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Nice try, both of them. :) -- Ravn 15:25, 16 February 2006 (UTC) (No, I was referring to both of your tries, not both of the two people -- Ravn 15:29, 16 February 2006 (UTC) )

still missing the lady...

This time I'm really sure I know the answer, but I still can't identify the lady (in some sense, she seems not to be on a page named as should be, as far as I can see...) — MFH:Talk 21:43, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

...she's not listed in "Category:Given names"...

...she's not listed in "Category:Living people"...

I just noticed that the image has been removed from its article on February 9. :/ If you are sure you know the answer, this should allow you to find the person in question. Otherwise, I will try to find someone else to take her place.. -- Ravn 09:42, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Then the answer is Johann Sebastian Bach : First picture is probably "the first half of" Johanna Quandt (image removed on Feb. 9), second is "the middle part of" Rowan Sebastian Atkinson, and the last is an'bach. — MFH:Talk 17:09, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations, that is correct. I'm sorry about the image that has disappeared. -- Ravn 09:46, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. Just a detail: you copy-pasted(?) "Ten points go to MFH" on the main page - it should read "36". — MFH:Talk 03:32, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
