Prehistoric Origins
Some scholars believe the story originated in Paleolithic times, when Cave Bears were ritually sacrificed and their skulls set up in shrines deep in their caverns, with food offerings presented in front of the skulls for the benefit of the bears' spirits. In the original version of the story, some impious offender committed sacrilege by eating of the offering, and was torn to pieces by the vengeful spirits. Fable Comic Book
I question the value of the Fable Comic Book version being part of the main Goldilocks article.
