South of England v Cumbria
The same word is used in both areas to refer to two different features. In the former we are considering small valleys in hilly districts, in the latter we find 'combe' used to name mountainside hollows of glacial origin which would be rendered corries in Scotland, cirques in France or cwms in Wales. Might be worth splitting them out. cheers Geopersona (talk) 20:25, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
