Untitled

Unfortunately, all the sculpture shown on the "First Bank" link here is by Corrado Parducci. AA Weinman did do some work on this building, but it is not shown here. Perhaps I'll post some of it. Carptrash 23:20, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Jefferson Memorial

I feel you should tell a at least a little about Weinman's work on the pedestal of the statue at the Jefferson Memorial.99.161.86.167 (talk) 22:47, 3 May 2008 (UTC)javanick28Reply

There seems to be some disagreement

as to where this work is, but since it is not by Weinman i believe that the correct term is "moot." Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 14:47, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just plucked this out of Selected works

SIRIS lists French and Weinman as the sculptors of the Four Continents, with the Piccirilli Brothers as the carvers. Is this wrong? BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 17:39, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
The primary contract was with French, who had as his associate, Weinman. I've created a category on the commons with links to both French and Weinman. Also, AIA Guide to NYC has Weinman, associate.Zeete (talk) 16:32, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Richman, in what I feel is the best book about French's work (at least the best one I have), states that French chose to include Weinman's name as an assistant on all four groups but that none of the surviving correspondence explains why. He further states that this is only the second time in "the history of American sculpture" that an assistant was so recognized. Neither of the two publications on Weinman that I have include the Continents in their listing of his works. [1]
