Correlation of %A1C to average glucose levels

Having just converted this chart for mmol/L I followed the link at the bottom of the page and it gives different figures against each of the A1C percentages.... Which are the correct figures CustardJack 09:08, 11 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Two hours after eating

I have often seen this as the rule for measuring after-meal glucose levels. I have noticed that it often takes me more than half an hour to consume a meal. Do I measure the two hours from the first bite, the last bite or the middle of the meal? Significant differences may be noted between each of these timings. Also, which of these timings does the hbA1c test correlate with? There is a highly regretable lack of precision in all the literature I have seen, and questions put to physicians are always answered with evasions and/or generalities. Time frame

Where does the new time frame of 2-4 weeks come from for HbA1c skew? I never heard that expect on wikipedia and can't find a source for such information.

Time frame

Ok, found a site http://www.med.umich.edu/mdrtc/cores/ChemCore/hemoa1c.htm

higher level?

"People with diabetes mellitus have higher levels of HbA1c." I don't agree. I have a HbA1c level of 5.2, which is in the range of nondiabetics. I'll change it
