Fledgist is F.S.J. Ledgister a political scientist teaching at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Ledgister teaches comparative politics and political theory (or philosophy if you're a Straussian), and specializes in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Ledgister was educated at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica, New York University, and the University of California, San Diego.

From 1979 to 1982, he was Research Officer and Staff Writer for the Gleaner newspapers.
