Free/Paid

Dividing the links section in to free, and paid file storage sites? Opinion? Maybe even offer a little more information about each, such as how much space and bandwidth they offer? I'd be glad to write up some of them, as long as I know they won't be removed.

Merge

This article should be merged with Online storage

Since online storage was to all intents and purposes identical, except for lacking the table and just having a simple list of links to each service, I changed it into a redirect to this page. -- John Owens (talk) 12:12, 2005 August 12 (UTC)
As far as merging with Remote backup, I think these articles are talking about two different things. Online file storage appears to be talking about a service that allows you to access your files from anywhere, different from remote backup, which is a way to safely store your important files offsite. Remote backup doesn't appear to be used for day-to-day file sharing between sites. So I oppose the merge. —Cleared as filed. 03:19, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Overly commercial and prone to vandalism

Should wikipedia really be a directory of services? IMHO we are an encyclopedia, NOT a phonebook. Triona 11:16, 27 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I've removed the table of services. This article should be about online file storage in general, not a list of providers. —Cleared as filed. 03:16, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
