Renaming the "Bernoulli equation" article to a "Bernoulli differential equation"

Can someone explain the difference with Bernoulli's equation? Samw 00:58, 24 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

I don't know about the physics one, but one difference I can point is, the mathematics article deals with a differential equation, and I think the physics one deals with a vanilla equation drini 04:59, 24 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
I propose we rename the "Bernoulli equation" article to a "Bernoulli differential equation" to distinguish it from Bernoulli's equation. That's what Mathworld[1] calls it. The current name can be turned into a disambiguation page. As moves are somewhat difficult to undo, I will wait a week to see if there are any objections before proceeding. Fine with me. Oleg Alexandrov 00:56, 25 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
Done. I disambig'd the obvious. I left generic links (like list of math topics) pointing to the disambig page. Samw 02:47, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Spelling of Bernoulli

My differential equations professor always stressed that it was Bernouilli (with TWO i's), not Bernoulli. Are there two valid spellings? Dshin 18:09, 27 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The article on the Bernoulli family says that "Bernouilli" is an obsolete French spelling: Template:Quote2d37 (talk) 23:22, 13 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Link to the inventor?

Can someone who knows better than I please insert a link to the Bernoulli who invented these equations? Kwertii (talk) 21:14, 18 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 14:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

format of the equation

Is there a reason why in the introduction the differential equation is written differently compared to the chapter "solution" (the term P(x) is on different sides, exponent of y is named \alpha instead of n)? If not, I suggest to have the same form in both places.

Multivariate addition

An IP editor recently added the following (uncited, cleaned-up) text to the article: Template:Tq Superficially this seems like it would be ok for the article, but it is not self-contained (what is M?) and I was not able to find any sources supporting its content. If someone else finds sources, I would suggest reinstating it as its own section near the end of the article. --JBL (talk) 20:07, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
