Image from CIVITAS DEI Catholic website Original source that supplied image to the Catholic website not stated but image can only have been taken by the Vatican itself. External photographers would not have been allowed access to take such an image in St. Peter's Basilica.

Fair Use for Pope

  • The image is unique, it is likely that the content of the image will not be taken again.
  • The image gives a unique representation of the status of the papacy in pre-Vatican II and thus contributes to the article.
  • The image is of a low resolution and does not impede on the original to be sold.
