merge with trigonometric identity

primarily to MarkSweep: This makes perfect sense to me, and seeing the sparse edit history I don't think anyone is going to take too much offence at anyone doing this... In fact, would you mind if I did? (me being a beginner and all, and not that practiced in the technical wiki arts, of which wikipedia seems to have a disproportionate amount!)
