Parody led to Netscape shutting down redirects to personal home pages

The Netscape employee Robert Waugh made a parody showing famous mass murderers (e.g. John Wayne Gacy) in the same style with the slogan “Think Different” on his home page, which was back then displayed under the URL about:rmw in then then dominant Netscape Navigator. This led to an uproar which eventually led to Netscape shutting down the forwarding of all of their employees’ personal homepages: https://www.jwz.org/gruntle/blowme.html@ – 31.16.118.116 (talk) 08:15, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
