Zeros and Ones was a popular Chicagoland FirstClass BBS famous for its motto:

This was intended to quench flame wars by reminding users that, after all, the entire content of an digital forum is a mere flurry of binary bits, evanescent charges in computer memory or storage; at worst, perhaps, holes in punched tape -- nothing enduring, graven in stone, or indeed of any direct, immediate effect of any kind on anyone in the Real World.

Users were encouraged to meditate on the transient nature of this medium, and relax.
